Marie O’Connor is a textile designer, artist and educator. A main area of investigation in her work is the relationship between flatness and form, exploring this in materials and image-making.
‘Play’ is essential to her approach and methods, She is interested in creating surprising situations between the body and clothing, image and object and scale and distance.
Her practice is rooted in research and recent projects develop her ongoing interest in archives in the fields of textiles, dress and the decorative arts.
